Founder Story: Home Sweet Home
It was late when Kami and Galen
finally arrived home.
They both uploaded their resumes and
got job offers immediately.
Kami got a job in the science career
as a fertilizer analyst and Galen got a job in the culinary career as a
vegetable slicer.
They both started to work on the
skills required for their new jobs.
However Galen just couldn’t keep his eyes off Kami.
Until he saw a strange light in the
garden and went to investigate.
Galen was shocked. It was actually aliens! He had never believed they really existed.
After many hours of probing, Galen
knew he would never doubt anything again!
He headed to the sauna to relax in a
mud bath.
Kami: So where have you been?
One minute you’re watching TV the next you wander in with a bemused
expression and feel the need for a girly pamper session?
Galen: Just don’t ask.
Unfortunately the
birds had escaped while Kami and Galen were at uni however Bruce was still
there to greet them.
Kami had been working
on her magic skills and had finally learnt to cast without using her wand.
Their resident
Bonehilda was proving invaluable and kept the house clean as well as fixing
appliances.
Kami soon had her
first day at work and rushed off to make a good impression.
Galen’s first day
involved more of a saunter than a rush.
Kami loved her
gardening and decided to create her own little area to grow plants. She even added a beehive.
And a chicken
coop. To try and dissuade the zombies
from her garden Kami added sunflowers.
Galen liked the
sunflowers more than the zombies did!
He was also very fond
of the chickens.
The downstairs spare bedroom was
refurbished to become a lab for Kami.
Despite not
attracting the zombies away from the garden, the sunflowers created the best
fertilizer.
And the chickens
rarely produced a bad egg.
The bee’s however had
taken a dislike to Kami.
Despite her best
efforts they just would not let her near the hive.
Galen was able to
tend to the hive without a problem.
Kami: Horrible stingy
things! They are all yours!
Things did not always
run smoothly, and one night a burglar approached.
Kami managed to hear
the intruder and call the police.
Kami: *whispers* hello? We are
being burgled!
Emergency Services: Really miss,
I don’t think being bungled is an emergency.
Kami: NO! BURGLED!
Emergency Services: Oh! Why didn’t you say so, I’ll send a unit over.
Police Officer: I’m sorry ma’am
but we were too late to catch the perpetrator.
Kami: But she is right there!
Police Officer: Again ma’am I’m
sorry. At least nothing was taken.
Kami: Really?!
Kami liked to spend
her time travelling around town getting and analysing objects for her
experiments.
Galen had become
quite popular at work and had been invited to a costume party.
Galen: Don’t say a word. It was all they had left in the shop.
What? *snigger*
Kami was enjoying her
new lab and was trying a new gene splicing experiment on a seed she had picked
up at the park.
She was overjoyed at
the result. She had created a forbidden
fruit seed. She had heard tell of these
but only the finest scientists like Dr Therimus Conjour had ever managed to
produce one. She couldn’t wait to plant
it and see what happened.
She decided to try experimenting
with koi DNA but that only produced a goldfish.
She would need to work on that some more.
Galen had organised a
spooky day party and it was about to start.
Before the guests arrived Kami headed out to the garden and planted the
forbidden fruit seed.
Galen’s feast party
was a great success. They would not need
to prepare a meal for a week!
Galen was in
hysterics when a werewolf guest ate the pumpkin pie in her own special way.
Galen had
unofficially taken control of the animal husbandry at home.
He looked after
Bruce.
The Bees.
And he couldn’t keep
away from the chickens.
Despite his
differences with Charles.
Which at times could
get a little heated!
When he had free time
Galen still loved to paint.
Kami was working on a
novel in her spare time.
Handiness was a big
requirement at work so Kami spent a lot of time upgrading objects throughout
the house.
As well as her career
skills and her novel she still managed to squeeze in a little alchemy practice.
Galen had re-done the
picture of Kami and so we have our first legacy portrait!
Galen was inspired by
Kami’s writing and decided to start his own novel.
But was side tracked
by the new chicks that had arrived.
Galen headed off to
work and Kami decided to try cloning the koi DNA again.
Kami: Come on baby, work for mama!
But things didn’t
quite go according to plan.
Kami: Wait. What’s this?
This isn’t fish DNA. OMG what
have I done!
