Double Trouble

The birth went smoothly and there were no complications.  Kami and Galen welcomed their new son Martin to the family.

And the strange shape on the scan?  Well the doctors had never seen a pregnancy where the baby was a genie before.  It just so happened that genie babies don’t show up on a scan.  So much to their surprise they were blessed with twins.  They called their daughter Clare.

However they had not been prepared for twins and the nursery was lacking in space.  Galen settled Clare into her crib and called Nursery’s R Us for another emergency room makeover.

Kami played with Martin while the experts worked to create more space for the new arrivals.

Kami: You two are going to cost Mummy and Daddy a fortune aren’t you?  Yes you are!

With the renovations finally complete Galen woke Julian.

Galen: Daddy has a surprise for you my boy?

Julian: What is it Daddy?

Galen: Just you wait and see.

Nursery’s R Us had done a fantastic job and created a room for Julian to have all for himself.

Galen: Do you like it?

Julian: *gasp* It’s a big boys room! 

Galen: Yes it is!  Especially for my big boy.

Julian: But why have I got a new room? 

Galen: Because we have new family now and they need the nursery.

Julian: You mean my brother is here?

Galen: Yes he is.

As Galen tried to get a very excited Julian to sleep in his new room, Kami settled the twins in for the night.

Kami had started to teach Julian to walk and he insisted on learning near his new siblings.

Kami: So you are happy to have a brother and a sister?

Julian: I don’t mind having a sister as long as I have my new brother to play with.

Kami: You will have them both to play with once they are bigger.

Julian: I just want a brother to play with.  But Clare can use my toys I suppose.

Kami worried that there may be a little sibling rivalry on the horizon!

Galen was still taking time to tend to the other babies in the family.

He even brought Julian out to help.

Snowflake Day arrived and the Pendragon’s decided to throw a gift giving party.  With the arrival of the twins they had not had time to decorate the house, but the guests didn’t seem to mind.

Kami had even found that one of the guests had attended the same university and enjoyed a quick blast of the school cheer.

The party went well and everyone enjoyed their gifts.

With the guests getting ready to leave, Kami put Julian to bed.

While Galen rounded up the party stragglers.

The days flew by with Julian learning skills fast.  Kami was also getting better at her conversion spells.

And was managing to turn rotten eggs into insects.

The twins were growing fast; it wouldn’t be long before they were toddlers themselves.

But there were problems with Bonehilda.

Bonehilda: I’m not touching it.  When I touch it, it screams.

Kami: Oh really Bonehilda.  Look, she just wants a cuddle.

Bonehilda: Humph.  I’ll take care of the house; you sort out those noisy little things.

Galen was working long hours but was always keen to spend time with his children when he returned home.

He always tried to be home in time to read Julian his bedtime story.

Julian: LET ME OUT!!!

Bonehilda: See.  All you kids do is scream.

Julian: Please let me out bony lady.

Bonehilda: Not on your nelly!

Julian: Aww, please bony lady.  I promise not to scream.

Bonehilda: Nope.

Julian:  DADDY!!!!!

Bonehilda: I’m outta here!

Galen: What’s all the fuss little man?

Julian: The bony lady won’t let me out.

Galen: Don’t worry son, Daddy’s here now.

Julian: Love you Daddy!

Galen:  So Bonehilda.  Julian says you wouldn’t let him out this morning.

Bonehilda: Lying little toe rag sir.  I was in the garage doing the laundry all morning.

Galen: Hmm, I see.

Galen: I think we might have a problem with Bonehilda.

Kami: I know what you mean; she doesn’t seem to like the children.

Galen: She said Julian was lying about her not letting him out.

Kami: I doubt that.  I mean she even refuses to empty the potty.

Galen: I think we need to keep an eye on her.

Kami and Galen kept a close eye on the kids, refusing to leave the house unless the other was there.  They just didn’t trust Bonehilda to take care of the children.

Julian tried to make friends with Bonehilda but Kami kept close watch.

Julian: Come see bony lady.  I got something to show you.

Bonehilda: What is it boy?

Julian: Follow me!

Kami finally thought Bonehilda might have had a change of heart as she followed Julian into the nursery.

Julian: Look bony lady!  I found a car!  Want to play?

Bonehilda:  More mess for me to clean up I see!

Bonehilda snatched the toy car up off the floor and threw it back into the toy box before storming out.

Kami rushed over to Julian as his bottom lip started to quiver and tears began to form in his big eyes.

Kami: Don’t worry little man, you did a good thing.  Mummy is very proud.

The snow had started to melt and although there was still frost in the air spring was on its way.

Bonehilda had disappeared and although this meant more work for the family they were somewhat relieved.

The zombie prevention methods were starting to work too and Kami was pleased that her garden remained safe.

However it was soon time for Kami to return to work so Galen summoned a new Bonehilda to take care of the children while they were both away from home.

All looked promising as the new Bonehilda cleaned out the potty without complaint.

Julian: Daddy?  Why is the bony lady back?

Galen: It’s a new Bonehilda.  This one will be nicer.

Julian: Yay!  Will bony lady be my friend now?

Galen: I really do hope so son.

Another zombie attack foiled by the pea shooter!

Bonehilda: So.  Your Julian huh?

Julian:  Yes!  Will you be my friend bony lady?

Bonehilda: Nope sorry kid.  I just do cleaning.

Julian: I don’t like bony hilders.

Spring had finally sprung and a new gnome had arrived to help Kami with the garden.  This is Adrienne the Bucktooth Butternut Gnome!

The plants were in desperate need of attention after their winter sleep and Kami spent much of her time coaxing them back to health.

It was finally time for the twins birthday and Kami arranged a party to celebrate.

Martin was the first to blow out his candle.

And Bonehilda was the first to his cake!

Kami headed inside to fetch Clare.

While Martin went to meet his brother.

Julian: Hey brother!  This is Peanut.  You can play with him if you like.

Martin: *grins*

It was Clare’s turn at the cake.

She too headed off to meet her elder sibling.

Just then the makeover fairy decided to visit!

Julian: So, you is my sister huh?

Clare: Yeps

Julian: I guess you’re not so bad.

Clare: Oh.  Urm thanks I guess.

Martin: He says we can play with his doll!

Julian: Well I said you could.

Clare: *bottom lip quivers*

Julian: But I guess you can both play with him.  If you are careful.

Clare & Martin: *grins*

Well, I guess it had to start sometime.  A random party guest decides to meet Mr Death.

Kami: *sobs* Why my party!  That’s so not cool!

Mr Death: Sorry Miss.  No offence meant, but if your guests will refuse to eat before attending.

Dead Woman: Hey!  I’m right here reaper guy!

Mr Death: Ah, yes, well off you pop to the underworld then.   Chop chop.

After a long night it was time for the newly aged toddlers to head for bed.  Martin who looks just like his mummy.

And Clare who is the spit of her father.

Galen had started helping out with the garden.

While Kami had been promoted and was putting in extra hours at work.

While they were both busy Adrienne helped out in the garden.

When she wasn’t doing that she liked to spend time in Julian’s room listening to the stereo.  Unfortunately this usually happened when Julian was trying to sleep!

Martin was spending a lot of time with the xylophone while Clare preferred the blocks.

Time fly’s by fast and there was a birthday party to organise.

It was time for Julian’s birthday!

And as sparkles fly we say our goodbyes – for now anyway ;)

We will meet child Julian next time J
