8.A Bundle of Birthdays

The Pendragon Legacy

A Bundle of Birthdays

Last time we met, Kami and Galen were heading to the hospital to welcome the latest addition to the Pendragon family…

And it’s twins!  Please welcome Dillon and Moss!!
Dillon is a Genie and has the Evil and Heavy Sleeper traits.
Moss is also a Genie and acquired the Evil and Disciplined traits.
I thought you liked me randomiser L

Luckily, with Clare and Martin’s birthday on the horizon Nursery’s R  Us were not needed this time around!   Kami threw a big birthday party for the occasion.
First to the cake was Martin.

Followed shortly after by Clare.

As you can see they are both thrilled to have aged up!

Kami and Galen had redecorated the gym to provide a new bedroom for the twins.

However one of the party guests had decided to ignore the fact it was the children’s bedtime.

Martin: I’m trying to sleep!

Random Party Guy: What?

Martin: In case you hadn’t noticed we are trying to get some sleep here.

Clare: So get out!

Random Party Guy: Well they were just rude!

Adrienne was still in awe of the toilet.

Galen and Kami were so happy to have another set of twins and despite their evil traits they were very good babies.

Julian had heard Martin and Clare shouting so decided to check out the situation.

Julian: Excuse me sir, but what was all the shouting about?

Random Party Guy: I was just playing with the virtual specs and they started shouting!

Julian: Well you really shouldn’t be hanging around in their bedroom you know.

Random Party Guy: Look kid.  How about I read you a bedtime story and we say all is forgiven eh?

Julian: Cool!  Sure!

The trouble was that to get the bedtime story meant Julian kicked Martin out of bed!

Martin: Fine.  I’ll just sleep in here then.

A little later Julian left his sister and headed back to his own room.

Julian: Hah!  I knew I’d get my brother to share my room!

Clare was taking full advantage of the bar that had recently been installed.  It seemed she had gained her father’s talent for dance.

It was time for Martin and Clare to start school.

Julian: Hurry up Martin you can sit next to me on the bus!

Martin: But I’m waiting for Clare.

Julian: She won’t mind, come on!

Awkward!

The constant rain of spring was starting to get everyone down.  Kami was sick of getting soaked every time she tended to her beloved garden.

Finally summer started to arrive and the kids went on a field trip to the Mausoleum.   Julian asked Martin to stay and do homework instead of getting the bus home.  He forgot to mention this to Clare however.

Clare, who had been waiting for her brothers after the field trip, missed the bus and had to make her own way home.

Clare: They are not here.  I thought I’d missed them getting on the bus.  I hope they are okay.  I mean, they wouldn’t avoid me on purpose.  Would they?

No of course not dear.  I’m sure it’s all just a big misunderstanding.

Kami had lost a plant due to the spring rain and was most upset she was unable to save it.

Martin had decided on a new career goal.  Cowboy.

Martin: Mum!  Can I get a horse?

Kami: No.

Martin: But I want to be a cowboy!

Kami: When you grow up and get your own house you can have a horse.

Martin: *hmph*

Clare was finally showing that genius trait and enjoyed learning all she could.  If she was not practising her dance she could be found with her nose in a book.

Martin signed himself up for scouts.

Alma had become invaluable.  Even on her own time she would help with Moss and Dillon.

Galen was still working long hours but made sure that he read Julian a story every night once he returned home.

Clare had decided she had reached the limits of self-teaching and signed up for ballet class.

Martin: Is he old enough to drive?

Julian: Just scoot down so you can't see out the window.  It helps.

Kami decided to visit the summer festival and had her eye on the prize in the hot dog eating contest.

Well she did until her fellow competitor decided he must have her autograph.

Kami: Well at least he lost too.

It turned out that the Pendragon’s time with Butler Alma was to be short lived due to a fault with the dishwasher.

Julian: ALMA!

Despite their tears and pleading with Mr Death it appeared Alma’s time had come.

And she headed off to the netherworld.

Julian: Maybe I can fix it with my genie powers?

Kami: NO!  Don’t touch it!  I can’t lose you my baby boy.  This calls for a professional.

So Kami called out a repairman.

Kami: Please send out your best dishwasher repairman, it killed our butler!

But the dishwasher was on a mission of destruction.

Kami: I can’t believe it!  How can this happen?  They said she was the best!

Mr Death: I’m sorry Mrs P.  I’ve never seen anything like this.  I’d suggest you get a new dishwasher.

Kami: I think your right!

Adrienne was un-phased by the evening’s incidents and remained by her favourite toilet.

Galen quickly hired a new butler, Rhonda.  With strict instructions to stay away from the electrics!

Rhonda was just as good as Alma, if not better as she also tended to the bee box.  The bees seemed to like her.

Looks like Martin still wants to be a cowboy!!

While everyone was out enjoying the sunshine Kami got a disturbing call.

Kami: What?  Yes.  I understand.  Thank you for calling.

Everyone was having a great day in the sun.

Galen had done grilled salmon for tea on the BBQ.

But as much as she tried Kami just couldn’t hide her tears after the news she had received in that phone call.

Galen:  Kami what’s wrong?

Kami: Oh Galen, it’s awful!  My parents, there’s been an accident!

Galen: Oh my!  Are they okay?

Kami: *sobs* No they… they…*cries hysterically*

Galen: Oh Kami.  I’m so sorry!

Kami: I need to go back, attend to things.  With them gone I have to take my place.  But how can I drag you all along with me at such short notice?  The children are settled in school, the twins just born, I don’t know what to do!

Galen: Make the arrangements.  I’ll talk to the kids.  If you need to do this then we are with you.

Kami: Really?  I mean, are you sure?

Galen: You are never alone love and we will be there for you, me and the kids.  We love you.

Kami: Thank you Galen.

Galen spoke to the older children who were all supportive in their mother’s time of need.  With few words spoken Kami and Galen tucked Dillon and Moss in for their last night in Sunlit Tides.

In the early hours a taxi arrived to take then to their new home.

The sun was up by the time they reached Dragon Valley and their new home.

Martin: It’s huge!

Galen: What did you say your parents did again?

Kami: They were the Baron and Baroness of Dragon Valley.  That’s why I had to return.  As the only heir it is now my duty to take on the role.

Galen: Oh!  So I’m a Baron?  Do I get a crown?

Kami: No silly!   It’s no different really, the role mainly died out generations ago.  It’s just an image to be honest.

The accident that had caused the death of Kami’s parents had been a meteor strike.  There was still a lot of debris to clear up.

Galen:  You get the kids settled Kami, I’ll do this.

Hearing that Kami and her family had returned to the family home, a few volunteers from the local fire department came to help.

Fire Fighter:  Such a shame.  Good people those Pendragons.

It turned out that the gnomes had managed to survive the strike, albeit a little shaken.  Here are Julianne and Rhiannon.

The kids were not at all upset by the move.

Clare: OMG!  There’s a basketball hoop!

Julian:  The library in this place is amazing!

Martin:  Poor mum must be so upset.  I’ll help Dad clean up so she doesn’t have to see this mess.

After removing the debris Galen used his genie powers to spruce up the rest of the house.

Clare had found a little room in the basement with a lovely warm fireplace.  She quickly signed herself up for the local ballet classes and hoped that she wouldn’t have to start from scratch.

Galen checked on Dillon and Moss.  They had settled in nicely to their new surroundings.

Kami had spent a lot of time in the garden since they had arrived.  The plants were in need of some care and she was just the woman for the job.

Galen:  Kami?  Are you okay?  Why are you talking to a rock?

Kami: *laughs* Silly!  It’s not a rock!  It’s a dragon egg!

Galen: A what!!

Kami: Dragon egg.  They are indigenous to this area.  If you talk to them you can influence the type of dragon they will become.

Galen: Oh!  And what are you hoping for this one?

Kami: This one I hope will be a green dragon.  It will help with my beautiful garden.

Kami’s parent’s butler, Michael, had agreed to stay on and work for Kami and Galen.

Martin: So your our new butler eh?

Michael: Yes sir.

Martin: Hmm, well I’d keep clear of the dishwasher if I were you.

Michael: Why what is wrong with the dishwasher?

Martin: It’s evil!

Michael: *!?*

Kami’s dragon egg finally hatched into a green dragon she named Merlin.

Butler Michael didn’t seem too keen on having babies in the house!

Kami managed to get into the local science lab at the same level as she had been in Sunlit Tides.  She was keen to meet her fellow scientists and start building bonds with the community.

Galen had also secured a position at the local restaurant and was keen to improve his cooking skills to create a good first impression.

It was soon time for Dillon and Moss to become toddlers.  Kami and Galen invited the few new friends they had made to celebrate.
Kami took Dillon to his cake.

And Michael took Moss.

Michael: Meh, they’re not so bad.

And here they are!  Dillon with Galen’s hair and Moss with Kami’s!

Julian: The homework is so much harder here than in Sunlit Tides.

Martin:  You think?  You’re supposed to be the genius!

Julian: Uh, yeah.  Just kidding bro.

Clare preferred to do her homework in peace.

Michael:  Oh yeah kid, you know who my favourite is.

Kami had decided that the nectar makers needed a bit of an upgrade.

Dillon: Hmm, do I detect a hint of oregano?

Moss: This stuff is goooooddd!

Clare had discovered online chess.

While Julian preferred the more personal approach and practiced with his father.

Moss had no interest in boring mind games and liked to spend his time chatting with his school friends online.

Clare had been doing well in ballet class and had her first recital.  Despite the pouring rain her parents and brothers turned out for the event.

She even got a trophy!

Dedicated to her hobby Clare practiced often.

Kami had finally managed to revive the garden to its former glory and harvested fruits for her first try at nectar making.

The new surroundings had also had an effect on Julian who was spending more time with his sister.

Galen found the bees also preferred their new surroundings and were much more giving and less hostile.

Martin, being the only witch apart from his mother, sometimes felt the odd one out.  But was overjoyed when he discovered the broom arena in the back of the garden.

Julian was still working on the potion to make Peanut real.  He had just about cracked it.

Kami made her very first batch of Nectar.

With the high quality fruits and upgraded machine it tasted amazing!

Despite work there were still skills to be learnt and Galen set to work teaching Moss to talk.

Not forgetting spending quality time with each other!

Even Martin was helping out with the toddlers.

When he wasn’t riding his broom!

Galen tried his hand at nectar making.  He had a little trouble!

Galen was finally promoted and got rid of the tail.  But he gained weapons!!

Moss: I’m not sure this is safe.

Either she has been eating all the pies or Kami is expecting another Pendragon!

So time passes.  Martin is still riding around on his broom in his PJs

Clare is still working towards prima ballerina

And Julian is still king of the world!

Despite all her efforts, Kami still hasn’t succeeded it harvesting a plant sim.

Martin continues to be an amazing big brother and is always there to help out with his younger siblings.

As I said, time passes and that new little Pendragon is ready to face the world!

And here is proud daddy leading the way for his new daughter, Destiny.  Destiny joins us with the Heavy Sleeper and Brave traits.

Just a few days later and it is time for Julian to become a teen!

And here he is!  Teen Julian!!  He gained the Dog Person trait.

Julian: What you lookin’ at?
