A Time for Elders

Welcome back J  Last time we celebrated the marriage of Julian and Poppy.  Now it’s time for a few birthdays before we reach Clare and Martin’s special chapter.  Enjoy xxx

Destiny: Come on Parsnip the bandits are getting away!

Clare: You know Destiny, you will be a teenager soon and you won’t be able to play with Parsnip any more.

Destiny: Who says I can’t! 

Clare: You will see baby sis.

Destiny:  I don’t care what they say.  Parsnip will always be my best friend.  Always.

Moss was trying to persuade Galen to let Dillon come home.

Moss:  I was talking to Julian and he’s really improved.  I know he can be a pain but he belongs here with us.

Galen:  I’m sorry son but he needs to learn his lesson.

Moss:  But Dad, don’t you love him?

Galen:  Of course I do.  He’s my son and I will always love him.  I just need to make sure he understands the consequences of his actions.  If I give in too soon he will never learn.

Moss:  I understand.  I just wish there was another way.

Galen: Me too Moss, me too.

Kami was experimenting again.  She was a bit out of practice and her results were not as high quality as they once were.

It was time for the children to become teens and Galen invited everyone round to celebrate.

Destiny was with Parsnip.

Destiny:  I won’t let them tear us apart Parsnip I promise!

Grayson:  Is that cake for me?  I don’t want it!  I like being a child I never want to grow up!

Kami decided to have a talk with Grayson.

Kami:  I know it’s scary growing up but it is something we all have to do.

Grayson:  But why?

Kami:  It’s all part of life.  Just think of all the fun things you will be able to do!

Grayson: Like what?

Kami:  You get to stay up later, play on the climbing wall, learn to drive and so much more!

Grayson:  Well I guess it won’t be so bad.

Birthday time had arrived.  Jonas and Destiny were all set to blow out their candles but Grayson was taking his time getting to the cake.

Oh dear!  I think Jonas needs a visit from the makeover fairy!  He gained the ambitious trait.

Jonas:  What’s everyone laughing at?  Wait?  Do I have pigtails!

Next was Destiny who gained the Irresistible trait.

And finally Grayson appeared.

He also gained pigtails!  Grayson got the Frugal trait.

Poppy had attended and it seems there is another little Pendragon on the way :)

Now the makeover fairy has visited, let’s take a look at our teens.

Jonas.

Grayson.

And Destiny.

Jonas was very excited about becoming a teen!

Galen:  It’s cold and dark.  I really shouldn’t play on the slip n slide.

Galen: Weeeee!  Omph!

Destiny had a run in with Charles.

And won!

Destiny: Oh yeah!  That chicken is no match for me!

Clare:  Well done sis.

As the jewellery maker refused to work I swapped it for a bot machine :)  Unfortunately the house is to full to add a bot right now but we have future generations to come!

Destiny was true to her word.  Although she could no longer play with Parsnip, she set up a sleeping bag next to him every night.

Galen and Kami’s birthdays were approaching and the kids were organising a surprise party.

Jonas:  How much!  Aww that’s like half my pocket money!

Kami and Galen could tell they were up to something!

The day finally arrived and Kami and Galen were thrilled at the effort the kids had gone to.

Galen: Knew they were up to something!

First Galen became an elder.

And then Kami.

A very pregnant Poppy was there.

And Moss had his eyes on one of the guests.  Daughter of close family friends Cassandra and Orlando.  Jodie Newell.

Cassandra watched from a distance as the teens fumbled over introductions.

Oblivious to the goings on around them, Moss and Jodie found themselves getting along.

Getting along very well!

Destiny:  What!?  They’ve known each other like 5 minutes!

Ahh Destiny, it was just meant to be ;)

In that short time Moss successfully managed to get his first kiss!

Naww :)

Here is elder Kami!

And elder Galen.

Martin:  You are totally rocking old Dad!

Galen: Urm thanks.

Clare: Martin that is so not appropriate!

Martin: What!  He is!

Moss decided it would be a good idea to get to know Cassandra and make sure she was happy that he was spending time with her daughter.

Grayson:  Why don’t you take a break sis?  You are always practicing.

Clare:  Practice makes perfect little bro.

Martin:  Oh magic mirror, how you taunt me.

Winter had arrived and the family were as usual ignoring the weather to pursue outdoor activities.

Galen was still playing with the sprinklers.

And Moss was tackling the fire walk.

Kami slowly rocked as she watched the snow fall outside.  She was so proud of her children; even Dillon who Julian said was improving leaps and bounds.  She just hoped that Galen would let him return home soon.

Poppy and Julian had had another daughter, Lacie.  Galen rushed over to meet his new granddaughter.

Grayson was, despite his fears, enjoying being a teen and the magic that it brought with it.

Clare’s hard work had paid off and she had gained another level in martial arts.

Kami and Galen had talked long and hard about their future.  With both of them at the top of their careers they chose to retire.

They wanted to spend their twilight years enjoying the company of their family.

And of course it meant Galen had more time to play with the sprinklers!

It had been a while since Kami had dared the jelly bean bush so she thought she would give it a go.

She felt a wobbly for a bit then had the sensation of being warm.  Just like sitting outside in the summer.

Destiny: Mum?  Why are you yellow?  Have you been experimenting again?

Kami:  Ah, that would be the power of the jelly bean!

Destiny:  Pardon?  The what now?

Jonas, having gained the ambitious trait, loved to learn and spent a lot of time watching the cooking channel.

It was birthday time again.  This time Clare and Martin were becoming adults.

Clare: OMG, what happened to your hair!

Clare: Oh yeah, looking good!

Adult Martin gained the vegetarian trait.  His lifetime wish is to become a rock star.

Clare gained the nurturing trait and her lifetime wish is superstar athlete.

Still looking for the ants Galen?

Galen:  Oh no, I can see them now.  So fascinating!  Busy little creatures aren’t they.

Graduation time!

Martin was Valedictorian and voted most popular.

Clare was voted most likely to become a sports star.

To celebrate the graduation Kami threw a costume party.

Galen was not happy to be stuck as the hot dog again!

Martin was some kind of Jedi ninja.

Clare, a police woman.

Moss came as Jason.

Jonas was most disappointed to be a hot dog like his dad.

Destiny was a kitty cat.

And Grayson was an alien.

With the party ended and everyone headed for bed, Kami and Galen hoped that their family would continue to stay safe and that they would be around to see the generations to come.
